Tall clients outgrow a standard care bed long before anything else about it stops working. This Invacare bed extension adds length to the foot end of a CS series bed so a taller person can lie out properly, with clear space at the feet.
It matters more than comfort. A client who is too long for the bed ends up sliding down, sitting off the hinge point of the backrest and pushing against the footboard, which undoes the positioning the bed is there to provide. Adding length puts the knee break and the backrest hinge back where they should sit for that person.
The width is adjustable as part of the fit, and the extension fits the existing bed, so there is no need to replace it.
