A single above knee amputation changes the way weight sits in a hoist, and this sling is cut for that shape. Extended padded thigh flaps hold the remaining leg and the residual side together, so the client stays balanced and square from lift off to landing.
The seat is left free at the coccyx, which means clothing and continence care can be managed while the person is still supported. Padding through the leg sections spreads load along the thigh, useful for clients with fragile skin or a history of shear injury. Loops attach to 2 or 4 point spreader bars, so it works with the mobile hoist or ceiling motor already in the house.
Sizing carries more weight than usual with amputee slings.
