The AirLo8 is a full mattress replacement alternating air system for a client at high risk of pressure injury, or with an existing wound, who needs active therapy through the surface. It replaces the mattress entirely, so there is nothing underneath it to work against.
Air cells alternate in a one in two pattern to move the loaded area around the body. Static cells at the head end keep the pillow position stable, and a quick release heel section lets the cells under the heels be dropped out for clients with heel wounds. Modes cover alternating, static, care and incline, so the surface can be changed for treatment, for meals and for transfers without moving the client off.
The NE7 pump can be set and monitored from the unit or from a phone or tablet over Bluetooth, which is useful in home care where a support worker may not be confident at the control panel and a clinician needs to check settings. Audio and visual alarms cover low pressure and power loss. The cover is fluid resistant with a waterfall zip to keep fluid out of the cells.
