For a self propelling client who wants their back support out of the way of their shoulders, the Ignite Active Contour with fixed hardware is a sensible starting point. The contour is shallow, so the shell follows the trunk without wrapping it, and the client keeps the free arc of movement they need to push efficiently.
The aluminium shell is light and the dual layer foam inner uses bubble contouring, which releases tension across the foam surface so pressure spreads across the back and does not build at the spine. A visco-elastic overlay settles into the client’s shape. The FLO2 cover is a warp knit that wicks moisture and lets air move, useful for anyone sitting through a Tasmanian summer.
Fixed hardware bolts the back on and leaves it there, which suits a client who does not need to remove the backrest for vehicle transfers and a household that is better off with fewer moving parts. Angle, depth and width all adjust at set-up, and lateral supports can be added later through the BAC system.
