The SMART standing frame supports a client to stand when they cannot do it unaided. It is used across a wide range of conditions including cerebral palsy, neurological and spinal injury, trauma and degenerative disorders, which makes it a sensible frame for a mixed caseload.
Chest and pelvic braces set the trunk and the hips, three way adjustable knee supports control the legs, and adjustable footplates with cross belts hold the feet and heels where you put them. Every support moves independently, so a client with an asymmetric pattern can be positioned properly. A folding tray gives the client somewhere to work, eat or play and stows away completely when it is not wanted.
Regular supported standing helps with bone loading, tone, digestion and respiratory function, and it changes what a person can see and reach in a room. The frame is built from steel and timber, and the supports can be reset as a client grows or changes.
