A belt used with the SMART stander to help move a client into and out of the frame. It gives the carer something secure to hold and the client something that holds them, which turns an awkward moment into a controlled one.
Getting a client into a standing frame is often the hardest part of the whole session, particularly where the client is heavy, anxious or has unpredictable tone. A belt lets the carer work close to the client with a proper grip, so the transfer is steadier and the client is less likely to be handled by clothing or limbs. Once the client is in, the frame’s own supports take over.
It is a low cost addition that makes the standing program more likely to happen.
