The arched head support is what this sling is built around. It is integral to the sling, adjustable, and carries removable stiffeners, so the level of head support can be tuned to the client rather than being fixed at manufacture. Underneath, it is a full body sling with divided, padded leg sections for everyday transfers between bed, chair and commode.
Silva-Superfine Plus is a soft 3D spacer fabric with two-way stretch that moulds around the client, and it is suitable for bathing, so the sling does not have to come off for a shower. A small aperture gives hygiene access, and the colour coded tapes mean a loop setting found once can be repeated by anyone. It takes a hot machine wash and a low heat tumble dry. It suits a client who is fully dependent for transfers and needs head support in the sling: after stroke, with advanced dementia, or with a neurological condition that has reduced trunk and neck control. It is fitted for each transfer and comes off afterwards.
