This combination carries the forearm and controls the thigh from one piece of mounting hardware, which keeps the side of the chair uncluttered and saves weight. It suits a client who needs upper limb support for shoulder and trunk alignment and, at the same time, a medial or lateral guide to stop the femur rolling out.
The arm support holds a fixed angle with stepless height adjustment. The axial thigh support runs on Spex axial hardware, which gives an effectively infinite range of angle and position, so the pad can be set flush along the thigh and moved again as the client changes.
Controlling the thigh reduces hip external rotation and helps stop the pelvis rotating with it, and it keeps the femur off the sideguard where pressure builds. Quick release or swing down versions clear the way for transfers, with a seat pan or seat rail mount to suit the chair. Pads are ordered separately.
