The Spex Manta builds its lateral trunk supports into the shell rather than bolting them on. That keeps the overall width down, which matters in a doorway and matters more for a client who uses tilt and needs the trunk contained right through the range instead of sliding out of contact as the chair goes back.
It handles mild to moderate trunk asymmetry, from light postural reference through to firm support. The centre of the back is lined with memory foam and the laterals are covered in neoprene, so the arms rest against a soft surface rather than a hard edge. The cover can be fitted either way up, which moves where the lateral contour sits and effectively gives you two set-ups from one part.
Depth and height both adjust on the shell, so the back can be reset as posture changes without buying a new unit, and the rear surface takes hook and loop for wedges or a positioning kit. A rear zip makes the cover quick to get off for washing. Where transfers are over the side, a swing-away lateral option is available. Hardware choice is open: dual, quad, drop, single or direct mount.
