Some clients are disturbed more by sling application than by the transfer itself. The Silvalea In-Situ High Easy is built for those clients: a full body sling with an adjustable integral head support that, subject to a risk assessment, can stay in place between transfers.
The Silva-Superfine Plus fabric is a 3D compression spacer material with two way stretch. It spreads load to reduce pressure build up where the sling sits under the client, and it can be used for bathing, so the sling does not have to come out for a wash. Low friction fabric on the legs makes the sling easier to slide into position, and the head support uses removable stiffeners so the amount of head and neck control can be set for the individual.
The D’Anserclip universal clip attachment clicks on and off with an audible confirmation, which gives carers a clear check that the sling is engaged before the lift starts.
Leaving a sling in situ is a clinical decision. Skin integrity, sitting tolerance and the seating surface all need to be checked before recommending it.
