The zip-down closure is for clients who are easier to dress from the top: the vest is fastened at the shoulders and the zip runs down to close it off. It gives a carer a clear line of sight to the chest and shoulder straps while they work, which helps when a client has limited head and trunk control and needs supporting through the process.
Once closed, the vest provides dynamic anterior trunk support, giving as the client moves and drawing them back towards midline. Clients who resist a rigid chest strap often accept this kind of support for much longer stretches.
Blended neoprene sits comfortably against the body and finished edges keep the fit soft at the neck and under the arms. Hinged buckles hold the shoulder straps in position, and chair attachment hardware is supplied.
