The Yomper+ is a power assist unit that fits under a manual wheelchair and pushes, so a self propelling client keeps their own chair and gains help on hills, long distances and rough footpaths. It is built around protecting shoulders and wrists over years of pushing.
This configuration comes with the EasyGo Bluetooth controller and the standard battery. The controller mounts on the wheelchair frame or straps to the leg, has a physical start and stop button, and offers adjustable speeds in both indoor and outdoor modes. Indoor mode lets the user brake on the push rims alone. An attendant control can be added if someone else does the driving.
Getting it on and off is a one person job. The unit stands upright on its own castors, wheels into position under the chair and angles up into its bracket, so nothing has to be lifted. It sits on the centre line of the chair, which keeps the handling of the chair intact and leaves room for an attendant’s feet. A carry case is included, and the battery is sized to travel by air.
