Practice autoclaves need water with the minerals taken out, and buying it in cartons gets expensive and awkward to store. This benchtop distiller makes it on site from ordinary tap water.
Water is boiled, the steam is carried away from the dissolved minerals and impurities, then condensed into a collection bottle ready to load into the steriliser. The tank is stainless steel, the footprint is small enough for a bench corner in a sterilising room, and the unit runs unattended once filled.
