Some clients can still cook, work and do their craft, just not on their feet. The VELA Tango 700E is a Danish work chair built around that. An electric actuator takes the seat from low enough to transfer onto up to bench height, so one chair covers the kitchen, the desk and the dining table.
The seat rotates to each side and locks where you want it, so your client can turn to a drawer or the sink without twisting their back. A central brake locks the base from one accessible lever, which means they can push up on the armrests to stand without the chair moving under them. Seat tilt, backrest height and armrest height and width all adjust, and the seat pan comes in four sizes, so the chair is fitted to the person rather than the other way round.
It suits an adult who tires on their feet or cannot stand for long, with MS, post-stroke weakness, heart or lung disease, or a progressive condition. They need to be able to transfer with the brake on and push up through the armrests. A client who wants to propel themselves around the house is better served by a wheelchair, since the Tango is walked along with the feet or moved by a carer.
