Some passengers undo a seat belt the moment the vehicle moves, and for a driver on their own that turns every trip into a risk. The Houdini Model 13 harness fastens entirely at the rear, out of the passenger’s reach, so a child who has learned to release a buckle cannot release this one.
This is the small size, made for younger children. It gives postural support as well as containment, holding the passenger upright in the seat, which helps children with low trunk control who slide or list sideways on a journey. It can also be used on some wheelchairs and easy chairs.
It is not a safety harness in its own right. The vehicle seat belt must be worn over the top of it, unless the passenger is medically exempt, so the harness works as a second layer alongside the belt. It fits single seats where there is clear access around the backrest and under the base cushion.
