Reading urine test strips by eye is quick but it is also subjective, and colour interpretation varies between staff and between lighting conditions. The Urisys 1100 reads the strip photometrically and prints the result, which takes that variation out of a clinic’s urinalysis.
The strip is dipped, laid on the tray and read automatically, with a fixed incubation time so every sample is treated the same way. Results print on the built in thermal printer and are held in memory for recall, and a serial port allows connection to a practice or laboratory system so figures transfer without transcription.
It is small enough to sit permanently on a treatment room bench and quick enough to keep up with a continence clinic or a general practice list. A two line display steps the operator through each run.
