A single door sill can be the reason a client stops going outside. The Tyrex threshold ramp bridges that sill with a gentle 1:10 gradient across a full doorway width, which is the profile that suits someone self-propelling a manual wheelchair or pushing a walker rather than being pushed.
It is moulded in Australia from recycled tyre rubber. That makes it heavy enough to stay where you put it without fixing, and the surface is slip-resistant and UV-resistant so it can live outside at a back door or in a carport. Leave it freestanding, or fix it with adhesive if the client is coming at it with any speed. Matching side wings are available where the approach is from an angle rather than straight on.
Measure the sill before ordering. Tyrex builds this ramp across a range of heights, so there is a size for most front doors, sliding doors, bathrooms and garages. Where there is not much floor space in front of the sill, the steeper 1:8 version has a shorter run, but it is harder work to self-propel.
