This size is a common starting point for adolescent and smaller adult chairs. It gives a full work surface across the front of the chair while staying narrow enough to get through most household doorways when it is left on.
The board is built from a laminated fibreboard core with a hard black face. It shrugs off spills, cleaning agents and everyday knocks, which matters for a tray that is going to be on the chair every day.
Pre-drilled holes let you mount hardware to the surface, and the black PVC rim holds items on the tray while the chair is on the move.
