A client with poor upper limb control needs the arm supported where it can be used, not left to fall off the side of a tray. This lateral arm pad mounts to a Therafin padded half tray and gives the forearm a firm edge to rest against.
The construction is straightforward and durable: medium visco foam over a birch plywood base, with a reverse Dartex contact surface and neoprene on the back. The visco layer takes the pressure off a bony forearm, and the Dartex face has enough grip that the arm tends to stay put.
T-nuts are already embedded in the mounting holes, so fitting is a matter of lining the pad up with the holes in the tray and doing up the hardware. Kits come with the pad, brackets and fixings.
