A hand cone helps hold a hand open where tone or long standing contracture pulls the fingers into the palm. Keeping the palm open protects the skin from breakdown and odour, and gives you a starting position for stretch work in a therapy session.
This one is moulded in clear plastic, so you can see the palm and the nail beds without taking the cone out. That makes skin checks quick for carers and gives you a view of how the hand is actually sitting.
A soft adjustable strap holds it in place over the back of the hand and can be loosened as tolerance builds. It is easy to wipe down between users, which suits shared therapy settings.
