Arm cuffs hold the forearm on the tray surface for a client who cannot keep the limb in place on their own, whether from low tone, involuntary movement or a strong flexor pattern. These are the cuffs supplied for the Therafin evaluation tray.
Having them in the evaluation kit means you can work out during an assessment whether cuffs are the right answer at all, and how the client responds to being held, before that decision is written into a prescription. Some clients settle with them and some do not, and that is far better found out at the assessment.
They also work as replacements where a client’s existing cuffs are worn or lost.
