For a client who can still take some of their own weight but cannot get from lying to sitting without help, this bed ladder gives them something to pull on. The webbing strap runs from the foot of the bed up to the chest, and the rungs are colour coded so the person can see where to place their next hand and work their way up in stages.
It gives the person control over the pace of the movement, which matters a lot after illness, surgery or a period of deconditioning. Because the client is doing the work, it also keeps a carer out of a bent, twisting lift at the bedside. It loops through itself to attach, so there is no knot to tie correctly and nothing to get wrong at three in the morning.
Good for rehab programs where you want graded, repeatable practice the client can build on.
