This wedge holds the lower limbs in a raised, angled position, giving the legs a firm sloped surface to rest on so the position does not flatten out as the night goes on. It is used for elevation, for comfort, and for taking pressure off the heels.
Clients with swelling, poor circulation or limited movement in bed tend to benefit most, as do clients whose carers are currently propping legs with rolled bedding that slides away. Two sizes are made so the wedge can be matched to leg length and to how much lift you want.
A granulating insert is available where the leg needs a moulded contour, along with frotte and washable covers.
