Limited hip flexion is common in clients with cerebral palsy at GMFCS level V, and forcing a hip that will not flex to ninety degrees into a flat cushion drives pelvic obliquity, windsweeping and trunk asymmetry. The Spex Flex cushion is built around a strategic positioning base that accommodates that restriction.
This is the high contour build, for clients who need deeper shaping through the pelvis and thighs and a higher degree of stability. Pads and wedges within the base let you adjust on the spot during a fitting, then change it again later as posture shifts, without ordering a new cushion.
The layered top foams distribute pressure across the whole seated surface and the front edge is bevelled to allow for knee contractures. The cover is designed to move with the shape you have set, so the foam adjustments are not flattened out by the upholstery. An incontinence cover is included with the breathable outer.
