A cord style sock aid for a client who cannot reach their feet to dress, whether that is after a hip replacement, with back pain, or with limited trunk flexion from any cause. The sock is rolled onto the shaped former, the former is dropped to the floor, and the client guides the foot in and pulls the cords to draw the sock up the leg.
It is one of the quickest ways to restore independent dressing after surgery, and it removes a daily task from a support worker’s visit. The cords give reach from a seated position, so the client stays safely in the chair and does not bend forward.
Most clients pick it up within a session or two with a short demonstration.
