maxi is built for the age when looking different starts to matter. It reads as a work chair, not a piece of equipment, so it sits in a classroom or a teenager’s bedroom without announcing itself, while still doing the postural job properly.
Height, seat angle and backrest angle are all electric on a wired hand control, so the young person changes their own position through a long day at a desk instead of waiting for someone else to do it. The anatomically shaped seat and backrest give targeted pelvic support to hold an upright posture, and a solid central column with an extended wheelbase keeps it steady. The headrest and armrests adjust for height, the footplate plugs on, and a stand-up aid and push handle are available. Schuchmann put maxi at GMFCS levels III to V.
This is an indoor chair for study and table work. A young person who needs to be moved around outdoors, or who needs a reclined lying option, is better served by tina.
