Liquid clinical waste is where spills, splashes and odour come from, and a urinal or a vomit bowl that has to be carried down a corridor is the moment it happens. These sachets of super absorbent polymer drop straight into the container, dissolve on contact with fluid and turn the liquid into a firm gel that will not slop, spill or splash.
The sachet works in urinals, bedpans, commode bowls, vomit bowls and bags, urine and ileostomy bags, suction canisters and clinical waste bags. Because the powder is pre-measured in a water soluble pouch, staff are not scooping or eyeballing a dose, and hands stay away from the contents.
Odour drops once the fluid is gelled, which matters in shared rooms and in home care. Used sachets are disposed of with the waste they are in, under your usual protocol.
