Bariatric bed frames are wider than standard ones, and a standard mattress overlay leaves the edges of a large person unsupported. These extension sections are what close that gap.
The sections add on to a ROHO Dry Floatation mattress overlay to widen it to the bed, so the whole body sits on the same air cell surface. That is the point: a client at high risk of pressure injury gets consistent immersion and envelopment right across the width of the bed, with no pressure edge where an overlay would otherwise run out.
The cells work the way the rest of the Dry Floatation range does, adjusting to the body’s shape and continuing to adjust as the person moves or their condition changes. Nothing is powered, so there is no pump noise and nothing to fail overnight.
