Toileting takes a while, and a client with no upper torso control cannot hold themselves upright for the whole of it. This set pairs lateral supports with a chest strap so they do not have to.
The laterals sit either side of the ribcage and stop the trunk falling sideways. Both adjust vertically and horizontally, so they can be set to the client’s actual trunk shape. The chest strap then adds anterior support, holding the trunk back and giving the spine a chance to sit in reasonable alignment through the session.
For the carer, a client who is held securely is a client who can be left in a dignified position while personal care is done, with both hands free. For the client, feeling safe in the chair is usually what makes a toileting program workable at all.
We are Tasmanian owned and can set this up with your client’s existing HTS.
