There is a point where a client outgrows manual gait training. They are too large or too dependent to be safely lifted into a frame, so the walking stops, and everything that came with it stops too. The Rifton E-Pacer exists for exactly that point.
Who it suits
An adolescent or adult who can benefit from gait training but can no longer be safely transferred into a manual gait trainer, in a school, clinic or supported living setting where staff safety is part of the decision. Clients who transfer easily are usually better served by the standard Pacer.
The electric lift raises the client from sitting to standing in the frame, so the transfer is done by the equipment rather than by staff. That single change makes gait training possible again for clients who had been ruled out, and it takes the manual handling risk off the people doing the session.
Once standing, it works like the rest of the Pacer family, with secure body support and the same familiar adjustments, on a frame built strong and stable for larger users. It is the biggest member of that family and the one to reach for when size or dependency is the obstacle.
