The anatomic headrest is for a child who needs shaping around the back and sides of the head, not just a flat surface to rest against. The contoured shell cradles the occiput and brings the lateral pads in close, which helps hold the head in midline when tone or fatigue pulls it off centre.
The medium size suits a child who has grown past the small shell but does not yet need the full depth of the large.
