Children who need their head held steady while they stand use this connecting system to mount an R82 head support to the frame. It is the bracket and rod set that joins the two, so the head support sits where the child needs it and stays there through a standing session.
It suits a child with low head control or strong extensor tone, where the head drifts back or to one side once the trunk is loaded. Holding the head in a neutral line keeps the eyes level for looking around the room, makes swallowing safer and lets the child tolerate a longer stand. Two rod lengths cover shorter and taller set-ups, so the same head support can follow a child as the frame is adjusted over the years.
For the carer it is one set-up job, not a daily fiddle: once the rod is positioned the child can be put in and taken out without changing it.
