The R82 Meerkat Knee Supports are the pair of padded blocks that hold a child’s knees in position on the Meerkat standing frame. They are what stops a knee drifting into flexion and taking the whole stance with it, which matters for a child with low tone or a tendency to sag at the knee in standing.
Each support adjusts in width, height and depth using the same ratchet system as the rest of the frame, so no tools come out and nothing has to be unbolted. They mount to the Meerkat column and can be moved as the child grows, so a frame gets resized rather than replaced.
Size is chosen from knee circumference, not from the frame size. A support that is too large will not control the joint, and a child who only needs a light prompt at the knee may manage on the frame’s standard supports.
Good to know
- Accessory only: an R82 Meerkat frame is required
