A child who sits with the hips in abduction will often rest the inside of the knee straight onto the foot support frame. This padding set covers that contact point on the R82 Heron so the knee lands on padding instead of bare frame.
It is a small part that solves a specific problem: protecting skin and reducing discomfort for a child positioned in abduction after hip surgery, or with an abducted seating posture from cerebral palsy, through the length of a toileting and showering routine. If the child sits with the legs in neutral and there is no contact, you do not need it.
Like the rest of the Heron accessories it is made for a wet area and wipes clean, and it fits both the hydraulic and the power versions of the chair.
Good to know
- Requires the Heron foot supports, which are ordered separately
- Sold as a set
- Check fit against the Heron’s current foot support configuration; assembly instruction 9996097107 covers the foot supports
