Who it suits
The iXPRESS suits a manual wheelchair user whose shoulders will not take a full day of pushing, or who has a carer pushing them and wants that to stop. The drive wheels replace the standard rear wheels on a compatible Sunrise Medical chair, and the chair keeps its own seating, frame and setup.
Control comes from either an ergonomic joystick for the user or an attendant control at the handles, so the same chair can be driven by the client, by a carer, or by both depending on the day and the terrain. The electronics are programmable, which means acceleration and response can be tuned to how your client actually drives.
Batteries lift out for charging and for travel, and the smaller wheel build keeps the whole assembly compact for getting in and out of a car boot.
