Short admissions and falls risk assessments need a bed exit alert for weeks, not years. The Posey 8283 is built for that: a single patient pressure pad that lies over the mattress, plugs into a Posey fall alarm, and is discarded with the patient.
The alarm sounds as soon as weight comes off the pad, which gives staff warning while the person is still on the edge of the bed rather than already on their feet. That matters for a confused or impulsive client who forgets to call for help at night. The pad itself has no alarm and no battery: the alarm unit powers it through the cable, so there is nothing to charge and nothing to set up.
It is latex free and lies flat enough not to be noticed through the bedding, which helps with a client who would pick at anything they could feel.
