Who it suits
The Oxford Ascend is for clients who have some weight bearing ability and some grip, and who benefit from being brought up onto their feet as part of the transfer. Think rehabilitation after a stroke or a fracture, progressive conditions where standing tolerance is worth maintaining, and toileting transfers where getting clothing clear is the whole point.
The client holds the handles and takes part in the movement, which keeps muscles working and gives them a say in their own transfer. Powered leg positioning lets the carer open the base around a chair or a commode from the handset, and the knee pad adjusts to suit the person’s height. The foot tray lifts out when it is in the way.
The Smart Monitor gives service technicians a clear read on how the lift has been used, which helps keep a fleet in good order.
