A wind-up table is no use to a client with arthritis, a tremor or one working hand. This overbed table lifts on a gas strut: one hand on the lever raises or lowers the top, with nothing to wind and nothing to force.
The C-base rolls under a bed or a lift chair on castors and locks once it is where you want it. The frame is silver powder coated steel and the laminate top comes in a Lindberg Oak or Natural Beech woodgrain, which reads as furniture in a lounge room rather than equipment. Wipe it clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
It is used for meals, reading, a laptop or medication at the bedside or beside a recliner, and it suits clients with hemiplegia, tremor or painful hands who cannot manage a wind-up or screw-clamp table. Check the base clears the bed or chair frame, and choose a tilt-top model instead if the client mainly reads or needs the surface at an angle.
