The trolley is what runs along the rail and carries the motor, and this version does two jobs beyond that: it picks up charge from the rail so the hoist tops up wherever it is parked, and it carries the drive that moves the motor along the track under power.

Specifying it means the carer no longer pushes a loaded hoist sideways along the rail, and no one has to plug the hoist in at the end of a shift. Both of those matter most in houses with long track runs and in services where several carers share the equipment and routines slip.
