About this product

The Orion is Melrose’s basketball chair, developed with feedback from players who use it on court every week. Court sport asks things of a chair that daily mobility does not: fast direction changes, hard contact, and a fit close enough that the athlete and the chair move as one.

Every Orion is custom fabricated from the athlete’s measurements, because we all sit differently and we all push differently. Rake and camber are set to the player’s game, the back height and footplate height adjust, and the wheel and castor list is long enough to suit a guard or a big who plays a completely different role. You can choose a titanium or aluminium frame. Components are held to a high standard, and where the market cannot supply a part to that standard, Melrose makes it in house.

Ergo seat positioning by Kees van Breukelen M.D. Double Performance is also available, and the seat back can be flared and the sling tapered to bring the athlete’s hips and trunk into a stronger pushing position.
