The Gazelle is a custom built tennis chair, made in three and four wheel versions for players who want to move fast on court. Plenty of camber and a balance point placed directly over the camber bar are what let a player change direction quickly and get to the ball, and the snug fit means the chair responds to upper torso movement so the smaller adjustments a stroke needs happen without a push.
Fit is the whole point. Because Melrose builds each chair to the player, the seat and restraint make the chair an extension of the body, which helps trunk stability, balance and pushing, and transfers energy into the court instead of losing it in the frame. Any adaptation a player asks for to help their game can be added at build.
The adjustable Gazelle takes that further, letting you change axle position, front and rear seat height, dump and squeeze, footplate height and angle, and the seat back angle. It is slightly heavier than the fixed position Gazelle, which is the trade a competitive player has to weigh: set and forget, or keep tuning as their game develops. Quick release radial spoked wheels, rollerblade castors, adjustable tension seat and back upholstery, skirt guards, foot strap, grab handles and a powdercoat finish round it out.
