The Condor is Melrose’s folding chair for people whose needs do not fit a standard catalogue chair after an injury or illness. Almost every contact point can be specified. Front hangers are made at whatever angle suits the client’s legs, and footplates can be one piece drop in, fixed flip up, or swing away flip up, so a person who transfers standing and a person who is hoisted can both be accommodated on the same platform.
It folds, which is what most families are after: it goes in the boot, through a narrow doorway and into storage without a hoist or a second person. Well engineered moving parts are what keep a folding frame feeling tight rather than sloppy after a year of daily use, and the frame is offered in aluminium or in titanium for a lighter chair again. A bariatric build is available for heavier clients.
Backrest options include splayed backs, adjustable upholstery and reinforced versions for clients who need more trunk support. Castors, wheels, tyres, cushions, seat belts, skirt guards and a bag or backpack are all chosen at order, so the chair arrives ready to use.
