About this product

A flat tyre takes a wheelchair user off the road until someone can fix it. The Schwalbe Marathon Plus is the puncture resistant pneumatic tyre most commonly fitted to manual wheelchairs for exactly that reason: a thick SmartGuard belt sits under the tread and stops the glass, thorns and wire that cause most flats.

It keeps a pneumatic ride, so your client still gets the shock absorption and rolling comfort of an air tyre on rough footpaths. The smooth sidewall is hand friendly for someone who pushes with a hand on the tyre as well as the rim, and the tread compound does not leave black marks on indoor floors.

This one is the common rear wheel fitment on folding and rigid manual chairs, so check the size against the client’s wheel before ordering. It is sold as a single tyre, so order two if you are replacing a pair. Pressure should be set with a gauge, since the construction makes a thumb check unreliable.
