Not every wheelchair has room under the seat for a central linking bar. Frames that taper sharply at the front, or that carry other hardware in the middle, can leave nowhere for the crossbeam to sit. The Klaxon lateral linking kit solves that by taking the connection out to the sides of the frame.
Once fitted, the wheelchair links to and unlinks from the Klick power add-on the same way it would with a central system, so the user keeps the quick attach and release that makes the device practical day to day. Fitting usually does not call for permanent changes to the chair, and the linking hardware stays on the frame when the power unit is off.
It is a useful option to have in mind when you are matching a Klick to a chair that will not take the standard setup.
