Who it suits
The Supine Stander suits a client who needs the weight taken through the legs while the trunk and head are supported from behind. Three sizes run from early childhood through to adult, which makes it a practical choice for a service that wants one product family across a wide caseload.
The frame reclines fully flat for the transfer, so a hoisted client can be brought onto the board in lying and then raised. For a support worker or a parent that removes most of the lifting risk from the standing programme, which is usually the reason programmes stop happening.
In standing, de rotational straps, lateral pads and pelvic support hold the position while joints stay supported but still able to move, so the client works on balance while still being held securely. Knee flexion pads, abduction blocks, headrests, trays and spacer blocks are available to build up the setup.
Support pads are polyurethane, flexible and impervious to fluids, and wipe clean. Angle change is manual or power assisted depending on size.
