A replacement or spare protective cover for Icare pressure care mattresses. The fabric is waterproof but vapour permeable, so fluid stays out while moisture from the skin can still move away from the client.
Four-way stretch lets the cover move with the mattress underneath and not bridge across it, which keeps the pressure redistributing surface doing its job and reduces shear at the skin. Welded seams and a protected waterfall zip stop fluid tracking into the foam, which is what usually ends the life of a mattress.
The surface wipes clean between clients and machine washes at laundry temperatures, so it fits infection control routines in hospitals, residential care and the home.
