The Gravitate G5 is the lowest bed Icare builds. For a client who gets out of bed unassisted at night, or who rolls, the platform drops close to the floor so a fall becomes a short one. That matters most for people with osteoporosis or a history of fragility fractures.
Who it suits
It still works as a full care bed at the other end of its range. Height adjustment brings it up to a carer’s working height, and head lift, knee break and Trendelenburg give the positioning options a care plan needs. A manual vascular support function raises the lower legs through five stops for oedema management without disturbing the rest of the position.
The hand control has full and partial lock out, useful where cognitive change makes unintended adjustment a risk, and an emergency battery allows the bed to be lowered flat during a power failure. It breaks down into four sections for transport, so one person can set it up in a house with stairs.
