A thicker handle is often all a client with reduced grip needs. The Queens set gives each piece a smooth cylindrical ABS handle, slightly tapered so it beds into the palm without the fingers having to close tightly around it. The stainless steel heads are a standard shape, so the set does not announce itself at the table.
The set covers a knife, fork, spoon and teaspoon, and comes in retail packaging that suits handing straight to a client or a family. Handles are sealed for hygiene and everything is dishwasher safe.
It is a good first option for a client with arthritis, reduced hand strength or limited finger flexion who can hold a thick handle but loses standard cutlery. If tremor or restricted wrist movement is also in the picture, a weighted or angled set will do more than a built-up handle on its own. Where a client needs more still, the handle takes foam tubing to build it up further.
