Some clients cannot reach their own feet, and the skin between the toes is exactly where that matters. The Homecraft Long Handled Toe Washer puts a towelling pad on the end of a long stem so the job gets done from a seated position, without bending to the floor or breaking a hip precaution.
The plastic handle is built up, which helps a client with a weak or arthritic grip hold it steadily, and the flat wire frame is thin enough to slide between the toes rather than just wipe over them. It weighs almost nothing, so holding it out at arm’s length is not what stops the client. Two towelling pads come with it, they slip off the frame for washing, and replacements are sold separately.
It suits a client with hip precautions after a replacement, spinal stiffness, obesity or breathlessness who needs the skin between the toes kept clean and dry, which matters with diabetes or a fungal infection. It is shaped for the toes rather than for washing the whole foot and lower leg.
Good to know
- Fits Homecraft replacement toe washer pads
- Hand wash the pads and let them dry between uses
- Not for use with the pads removed
