The Sovereign S3 is Forte’s high care foam mattress, made in Armidale, New South Wales, for a client at medium to high risk of pressure injury who does not need or cannot tolerate an alternating air surface.
Four layers give it its character. An Airoform memory foam top lets the client immerse, a triple-grade zoned layer puts firmer support under the sacrum with smaller profiled cells at the heels and shoulders, a supportive middle layer helps during transfers, and a firm foundation stops the client bottoming out. A sloped heel zone offloads the heels, which is where a lot of injuries start.
The cover is four-way stretch, vapour permeable and fluid resistant on top, welded to a waterproof base, with a flap over the zip. It wipes clean and tolerates strong chlorine disinfection, so it stands up to shared use and reissue. Sizes run from single to long queen, including split queen halves for adjustable beds. For a client with an established category 3 or 4 injury, or one who cannot be repositioned at all, an alternating air system is usually the better call.
Good to know
- Split queen sizes are single halves for a split adjustable bed; order two
- Long sizes (2030 mm) suit most adjustable homecare beds; check the platform length
- Cover is stain resistant and wipe clean; do not launder the foam
- Custom sizes for other bed platforms can be made to order
